DS Smith develops new biodegradable carton for Veuve Clicquot champagne

“DS Smith said it saved 5.2t of virgin fiber while producing a batch of the carton since the grape residue from the Veuve Clicquot manufacturing process was used as natural pigments to obtain a unique dyed paper.

DS Smith consumer packaging key account wines and spirits manager Jean-Charles Moras said: “It was an honor to work with a brand that is not only globally recognized but also really innovative and environmentally conscious.

“Veuve Clicquot had clear ideas of what they wanted to achieve from this collaboration and we welcomed the opportunity to spend time researching and developing this unique design for them.””
